Development Associate

Day to Day

You will serve as the ownership team’s eyes, voice, and accountability partner across Ridgehouse’s operating and lease-up portfolio. Reporting directly to one of the firm’s principals, you will work across a nine-figure multifamily portfolio from day one — managing relationships with third-party property management partners, reviewing monthly financials, leading ownership-side lease-up execution for new developments, and conducting regular site inspections across the portfolio.

Expectations

  • Serve as primary liaison between ownership and third-party property management partners
  • Join weekly operating calls and hold management teams accountable to budget and plan
  • Review monthly financials across the operating portfolio, flagging variances and summarizing performance for ownership
  • Lead ownership-side execution when new communities come online — coordinating property websites, pricing strategy, and leasing team playbooks
  • Visit active properties 1–2x per month, conducting inspections and reporting findings directly to ownership
  • Drive follow-through on action items across properties and management teams
  • Use AI tools to accelerate analysis, reporting, and day-to-day workflows
  • Identify issues before they become problems and have the confidence to ask the hard question

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, or related field
  • 1–3 years of professional experience in business, operations, finance, or consulting
  • Demonstrated proficiency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, or similar) as part of your actual work
  • Strong analytical skills and comfort reading financial statements
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Based in St. Louis or willing to relocate
