Job Summary

The Development Associate will support and be part of the Development Team, which is responsible for sourcing new development opportunities for the company through various levels of market analysis, site selection, underwriting, and contract negotiation.  Applicants must have strong analytical and quantitative skills, as well as outstanding verbal and written communication skills with strong interpersonal abilities.  Prior experience is preferred, but not a must.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Interactions with real estate brokers and developers to identify opportunities and build relationships
  • Analyze markets to assess supply and demand, demographic trends, and market appeal
  • Working with team to underwrite and analyze potential sites for development opportunities
  • Data collection and analysis and interpretation
  • Assist in the creation, tracking and management of development schedules including due diligence, entitlements, design, permitting and land closing.
  • Assist with the coordination of consultants (civil, environmental, geotechnical, etc.)
  • Prepare investment memoranda and presentations for internal and external investment review
  • Assist in preparation of various materials to facilitate the development and success of the project

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a focus in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate, or a related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment and to react quickly in a demanding fast paced environment
  • Self-motivated and goal oriented with strong organizational skills
  • Ability to multi-task and manage several responsibilities and projects at one time
  • Ability and willingness to travel several times a month to gain market knowledge and site visits
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Job Type: Full-Time

Location: Ridgehouse Companies offers a corporate office in St. Louis, MO.  Relocation to the Greater St. Louis area is required.
