Development Associate

Day to Day
You will be the ownership team’s right hand across Ridgehouse’s multifamily portfolio. Reporting directly to one of the firm’s principals, you will manage relationships with third-party property management teams, keep projects on track, visit properties and construction sites across the portfolio, and make sure nothing falls through the cracks. This is a people-facing, high-accountability role — not a desk job.
Expectations
- Serve as primary liaison between ownership and third-party property management partners — building trust, following up, and driving accountability
- Join weekly calls with management teams and ensure commitments are met
- Review monthly financials across the operating portfolio, flagging variances and summarizing performance for ownership
- Visit active properties and construction sites 1–2x per month, reporting findings directly to ownership
- Coordinate across teams when new communities come online — property websites, leasing playbooks, marketing timelines
- Track and drive follow-through on action items across multiple properties and teams
- Keep ownership organized — maintain trackers, flag issues early, and surface what matters
- Identify problems before they escalate and have the confidence to ask hard questions
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (any major — business, communications, or related fields are a plus)
- Strong organizational skills — you keep lists, follow up relentlessly, and nothing slips
- Excellent interpersonal skills — you’re comfortable managing relationships with people who don’t report to you
- Clear, professional written and verbal communication
- Self-starter mentality — you don’t wait to be told what to do
- Willingness to travel to project sites and be in the field regularly
- Curious about AI and eager to incorporate it into your daily work
- Based in St. Louis
